Late payment removal?

REALLY ANNOYED WITH MYSELF!

I've not used my Cap1 card much recentley but I've missed a payment because there is a direct debit which goes out on it monthly which I forgot about... Idiot. The amount is farcical too, like around £39...

I have just sent them a letter asking nicely if they'll remove it because I've never missed a payment in 3 plus years. Anyone had success with this?

I have battled to improve my credit reports over the last 3 years, and just as they were looking (dare I say it) perfecto, this happens!!!

Tres annoyed and angry that I've done this, hoping they will be nice to me!

Has anyone experienced this working?

Very unlikely they will remove it, sorry.

Its a true record of your credit history.

Having said that, a single late payment wont affect it that much really.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Are you assuming this has been recorded or have you actually seen it on your credit report?

Was it a late payment or missed payment ? Late payments are not always registered with the CCA's, however most missed payments are.

Companies will not remove factually correct information. As has already been said one (1) on your credit report in 3 years will have minimal impact.

    Hiya

Thanks for the response. They have recorded it with experian and equifax as a late payment. I emailed them earlier and got this response:

    "Thank you for your message.

I understand your concern about the late mark that may be reported to the Credit Reference Agencies.

I’ve passed your message on to our Credit File Amendment team to check if this late mark has been reported to the credit reference agencies. They’ll reply to you by letter by the end of this month."

I've also posted them a letter. So see what happens I guess!
