where I work in Yorkshire its standard practice to put any eco7 meter which shows rate 1 into the night field and rate 2 in the day field on the handheld. They have this strange idea that British Gas etc know whats what and will sort it themselves.

I asked one of the MOP managers about this last year and stated they can do whatever they want! So, its really not properly controlled and suppliers could manipulate which way round they will be fit I their contracts...making it harder for agents when there is a switch.

Wake up industry! Instruct them on a national standard and wipe out all these meter transpositions!

The stupid issue is that the registers on the meter don't need to match in the records suppliers/DC/MOP's use. So, when a customer calls for help, how on earth can you say which rate is which when the customer has different ones to the industry? Just stupid!
