Installing a gas hob - what type of unit

So I'm in the early stage of kitchen planning and have a question (which is probably a bit daft)....
I'm wanting to have a double electric oven in a tall unit and will therefore have the gas hob away from the oven. Will I need to use a particular base unit or does the gas hob just sit on top of the unit?

Hobs can sit in any base unit you like. A 3 drawer stack underneath your hob with a slim drawer for utensils and two deeper drawers for pans is probably the most popular solution.0

That's brilliant - thank you both0

when planning the units above just bear in mind there is a min distance from the hob to what ever is above it & also units to the side.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
