Where to save

Can you please tell me if you have to declare you have premium bonds to anyone.

My partner got divorced 3 years ago and has now been contacted by his wife solicitor asking for more money (kids need things etc - which we will nearly always buy, trainers, jeans etc),

She had been hinting at this for a while as I now have a part time job, though we live together and have shared bank account (as well as single ones each),

She remarried, but seems her new husband has no money.

Can anyone just looks at our accounts re our financial situation?

Is it safer to have any money (we are saving for the long term) in premium bonds so it can't be seen.

    Jane,

Think you are better of speaking to your own solicitor about the details of divorce settlement and child support.

As a layperson (ie non expert), it seems unreasonable that maintenance should increase as a result of your salary. If your partners income has increased that is something different.

As for whether premium bonds would make any difference to the transparency of your assets, I don't think so. If it came to it a court would expect your partner to declare all his assets and you would be in contempt of court if you did not disclose everything.

    Good luck

I thought that's what might be suggested.

Like you say seems unfair, cos I work, but that seems to be the way it is at the moment, least I have some income at the moment.

It already went to court when the divorce occurred, didn't think it could go again, specially since she remarried.
