portable terminals loan

Im an entertainer so don't have a lot of transactions needed for a portable terminal. However there is one month when i will be selling some props with a possible 300 transactions. Is there a company who offers just 1 month or 1 week trial period.

many thanks in advance for any assistance

Buy yourself a copy of the Worlds Fair weekly paper and go to the Market Traders section , bit like 2 papers in one !
If you join the market Traders Federation ( Fairs Branch ) they have a scheme for loan of these terminals , and there is ads for same thing within the paper itself , hope this helps ?

  • Its not just simply a case of hiring a terminal for a month. If you've not already got one in place you will first need to set up a merchant bank account and get a merchant number. This usually involves some form of security check into your business and the merchant bank may even ask for some money to be put down as a security deposit to cover them from the risk of charge backs. There will also be a monthly fee associated with the merchant account and usually comes with a 12month min contract. These fees are normally on top of the rental price of the terminal. Oh and don't forget to factor in the fees associated with taking card payments.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, it might be worth checking out iZettle, although at the moment it only takes MasterCard, Diners and American Express, not Visa.

Sounds a bit more like an exclusivity agreement to me, why would a provider accept Diners and Amex but not Visa? I know they're more popular in the US but they could just accept Mastercard and Visa and be perfectly fine.

2checkout.com its cheap , and excepts all currencys its usa based though. I have used them myself, agree with others terminals are expensive.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

+1 for iZettle.com - it's very good. Except for not taking Visa.

I hope the OP avoids Paypal at all costs, I think I'm one of the first buyers to be screwed over but I've heard of them going so far as to need recipts for every transaction taken depending on when they randomly freeze your account. I used to think it happened to unlucky people, then it happened to me it's not a question of "if" but a question of "when will Paypal screw me over".
