Petrol price
Options
Shock horror, Went to work 04:30 am and yes you guessed it 3 ppl rise on fuel at three garages i pass overnight. So off i went to google why has fuel gone up was my question, Answer problem with brent increasing $2 a barrel since Monday 09/07.
My anger is why does it take petrol retailers weeks to drop the price when brent drops nearly $25 dollers a barrel, Their answer we buy in advance so we use what we have already purchased, Ok so why the sudden rise you still have the fuel you have already purchased at the cheaper price.
Whats your views, My blood boils, Why does the government not get a grip of this scandal.,:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I buy the minimum delivery then pay with my debit or credit card so all their profit is wiped in card merchant fees. :rotfl:0

You are aware that they're actually franchises owned by local businesses and not the petrol company on the sign?0 -

Yes I am aware. And those charging more than the other station 2 miles down the road are clearly ripping us off. Both same brand.0 -

your talking about a government which instead of calming motorists in the recent possible strike action in the fuel industry, deliberately created further panic by announcing drivers should keep their tanks 'topped up' and even that we should fill up spare jerrycans!
why? because panic buying = extra fuel demand = increasing prices = extra revenue for government in fuel duty and VAT
long gone are the days when governments worked in the interests of the citizens of the country, certainly this government has not demonstrated the ability to do that!Deleted_User wrote: »I buy the minimum delivery then pay with my debit or credit card so all their profit is wiped in card merchant fees. :rotfl:
errr, garages factor in the cost of merchant fees in the fuel price anyway, so they dont make a loss if you pay by card, keep convincing yourelf that you are getting at them if you wish, but your not!0 -

They may be paying more to the fuel company. Rural garages with low throughput charge more because on a per litre basis it costs more to maintain the pumps and have them inspected. They also have to pay a higher rate than a petrol station doing several times the fuel sales.0
