Morning...I shall apologise now for what may become a sombre post, with a smattering of raves; I need to compose myself before starting another letter to the numbskulls who decide you're fit to work without actually seeing you or reading the report from their agents very-angry.gif

In a nutshell, No2 Offspring has three damaged discs--each pressing on the nerves going through the lower back--causing incredible pain & associated issues with one leg, meaning the other leg is beginning to retaliate at having to do most of the work. Pain 'relief' medication (of one sort or another) is taken every two hours, with the strongest kept for night times & dire emergencies.
Said medication on such a level has associated side effects with incredible constipation & s-l-o-w reactions being the two most debilitating constants.

WHAT employer is going to give a job to someone who needs to move around the entire 8hrs+ of their shift, IF they are able to stay awake long enough to get in on time
    duh.gif...
or am I being too sensible for a government department who refuse to check that what you are telling them is true, even though you sign a form giving them permission to contact the medicoes treating you, so you have to pay (last time I asked, about 12 mths ago it was £50+ ) for copies of your medical records to prove you're not the scrounger they are making you out to be beating-head-against-the-wall.gif

It beggars belief that a "humanitarian" government--soooo keen to be seen "help others"--can be so utterly stupid when it comes to their own countryfolk, & really don't care that their 'policies' are the reason for so many more suicides. They have admitted that the monies paid to fraudulent claiments is a mere drop in the fiscal ocean compared to the costs of genuine claims going to appeal, so why don't they just ring up your GP & say 'you sure Fred/a Bl0ggs can't work?' & save us ALL the grief!

Sorry. When it's the fifth time you've had to take on the playground bullies for the same bluddin' reason, you too would want to rip off some little jobsworth's head & spit in the cavern before you. (Apologies if you're eating :D)

I did keep to the zombie theme tho :rotfl:

Not exactly a programme to cheer anyone up but following on from the talk of pensions, preparation for hard times and food banks etc...found this on BBC 2 This World - America's Poor Kids...
Hi Pops I watched that programme and it was so moving I thought. God love them all. The children had old heads on young shoulders(used to hear my late granny use those words often) That wee blonde girl with the glasses was adorable, and when the programme was over I couldn't stop thinking about all of those people even when I was going to bed:(
Glad to know you are feeling positive, and you sound such a lovely person by the way. Take care Margaret

Mumma is there a Citizan's Advice branch near you? If so get them to help fill the form in. It's what I had to do for OH, but in saying that our nearest CA branch is at the doctor's, once every 2 week's, I think it's because it's an indipendent ie: not related to the person appealing, that it possable might get read. hth.

Access to medical records should cost no more than £10 - why were you charged £50?!
    Fees to access health records

Accessing health records is free of charge if:
    • the records have been updated in the previous 40 days
    • they are in the form of paper records such as letters, X-rays or films
    • you don’t require a copy
If the records have not been updated in the last 40 days and you don’t require a copy, the maximum charge is £10. This charge applies whether the records are stored:
    • on computer
    • partly on computer and partly in another form, for example, paper records such as letters or hand-written clinical notes, or images such as X-ray film
    • entirely in another form
If you do want a copy, the maximum £10 charge for viewing will be included in the fee for obtaining a copy (see below). You will not be charged twice for one access request.

I know what you mean Mumma, those danged brown envelopes send a shiver up my spine - OH wont open one and gets quite shaken up when they arrive and sits anxiously watching my face for a reaction. We have just had one that gave us the list of benefits for this coming tax year, not even checked if they are up :rotfl: doubt it, but I noticed I do get an extra 80p carers allowance - I think whoop de bloomin doo! Just checked we get a whole £2.40 extra between us !! more than makes up for the £18 bedroom tax - not! I think champagne is in order tonight, pity neither of us drink.

Although he is on the work group they have not sent for him yet, am guessing after last time when he went straight from a night in accident and emergency and nearly collapsed in the office they may have thought it safer to ignore it all.

Am just stretching a pack of mince and it smells lovely. DGS is snoozing on the couch after eating egg and bacon wraps, fruit and biscuits and Im just about getting excited for Mothers Day.

    ginnyknit,

£2.40, you had best seek independent financial advice, I really wouldn't know how to invest such a vast sum. (sarc)

Hi to my shame I'm getting it from the rainforest people it's a PowerTraveller Explorer. I'll let you know if it's any good. I thought it would come in handy on trips away as well as prep.
    Cheers Rx

Well it arrived, it was described on rainforest marketplace as 'as new' but it was all dirty and sticky so I can't tell you if it's any good yet cos I'm sending it back. I will try again though and report back when I get a good one.
    Cheers Rx
