:) Ms Bluebag, can I make a pitch for hiring your services for the coming horticultural season?

I would like to offer you a chance to apply your skills to various allotment plants which I love and treasure. I was thinking in particular of the delightful horsetails and couch grass and nettles. Would your black thumb, as the Americans put it, extend to coping with pernicious weeds?

If it does, please pack your sleeping bag and move into my lottie shed. I can supply you with a Kelly Kettle and as many Sainsbugs Basics teabags as my armageddon cupboard can spare. Will also offer chard and, if the snails leave me any, strawbs in season. Whaddya think?:rotfl:

Stick growing is very useful, we need 'em as walking stick's, to help get fruit bearing branch's in reach,to keep the dog's entertained and the like, so yes there's plenty of room in the shed:D

My main whine - erm question is - see all these tons of horrible stuff... what do you DO with it ? There must be a limit to the amount you can eat. If I shove a plate of leaves under the RV's nose, drenched in lemon juice or not, he's liable to erupt higher and faster than Vesuvius!

How about useing the leave's to stuff in? like mince beef stuffed in pasta tube's, but use the leave's instead and stick a white/cheese sauce on top.

  • Mar apart from eating them steamed with dinner I make soup and lots of stir fries - even youngest who makes it a mission not to eat anything healthy will eat stir fries if I put a sauce in it!

    WCS
  • MAR you could always be sneaky and use the leaves as an extra layer when you make lasagne, they would then only be visible as a thin green line and he wouldn't notice it!!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

hi folks - I've been a bit busy as we are thinking of moving house and the husband and I have completely different views and requirements so it's taking a while to come to an agreement (this could be read as: for me to get my own way), however had a quick skim and I am loving the recent posts. i got an abridged mrs beeton book today and a grandma's housekeeping notes (M&S vouchers!), plus a lovely stainless steel fridge magnet which is a temperature and weights and measures conversion
