  • Thanks for the quick reply Mrs Lurcherwalker, very much appreciated.
I can add this to my 'To Do' List for tomorrow.

Stocked up on some tin stuff for my store cupboard today - I need to give it a good sort out and date everything.

Friday is also sourdough baking day, it takes me all day but it is so yummy.

This prepping lark certainly keeps me busy.
  • HI JOOLZ I keep a permanent marker on the tins shelf in the storeroom and mark the use by date on the label on the front and on the top of the tin and do it as the tins go on to the shelf. I still manage to miss the odd one that shuffles itself to the back of the store but it means I can see the dates from the top if I can't see them on the label. Makes keeping track of things easier for me (usually)!

Glad to see everyone is staying and ok with each other again.
The thing I love about this thread is that there are discussions and opposing opinions but we all still get along and have a united goal that keeps us all together.
Oh that the House of Commons could be so grown up and civilised as us, the world would certainly be a much better place.

Spent the afternoon trying to reclaim the spare room, my families loss of items will be the charity shops gain. Kondoing and tidying is the way forward for me.

I thought we had freedom to speak??? perhaps I'm wrong, I thought we could contribute to a debate, maybe not!

I'm sorry if my contribution is not acceptable and irrelevant to the current discontent, I'll remove me and my 'unacceptable' thoughts and posts for a while, good luck!

Please don't go, Mrs LW, your contributions are always so very interesting, and you have such a wide range of knowledge and experience we all can benefit from.

All points of views are interesting and worth listening to - we need the full range to give us a well-rounded discussion. :)

Well if I had to pick I'd go for Andrea Leadsom.

I'm getting peed off with the media, dooooom and glooom lets get some interviews on with some people who are passionate about future possibilities and stop pulling our country down......and for Heavens sake stop going on about who was in and who was out like we're still two different sides, we're on the same side......what's best for our families!!!

When I got divorced I was lied to, went through hell splitting up and taking an age getting the legal wranglings sorted. I then had three jobs while thinking I'd never have a life again. I was wrong, looking back it was the best thing that happened to me but just didn't feel it at the time I think Brexit is kinda the same thing.

On racism, my friend asked someone to pick up their dog poo and was called a racist in the loudest voice possible in front of loads of people who was walking by ........... he felt like a criminal and hadn't done anything.

I'm full of cold so make have a hundred spelling mistakes to which I apologise but I look like droopy with blood shot eyes.

  • Hi BLUEDOGGY It's OK I'm not going away but I will stick to prepping rather than current affairs and politics. Too many toes can be trodden on and I'd rather stay on terms with everyone so prepping and all things related it is!

Oh you poor snizzly dear PIC, how horrible I hope it's quick to run its course and that you feel very much better soon, hugs love, Lyn xxx.

Thanks Jackie, you're very kind and I certainly will stay but I will as Mar so sensibly suggested only post about prepping and leave politics and all that is related to them to those who are interested.
You can talk about your left foot as far as I am concerned MrsL. I'm sure we could link it to prepping somehow... :rotfl:
  • Is a very boring left foot, I don't think it would be very entertaining as it hurts like billy oh at the moment, plantar fasciitis is NOT my friend!!!

    :) Too funny.

I'm starting to go down with a lurgy and presently feel as if I have been passed between rollers; everything aches. It'll either pass with a good night's sleep or I'll be proper poorly tomorrow - whatever.

MrsLW, you have my every sympathy, I too have the dreaded plantar fascitis and it's not a bundle of laughs.

Will be looking at a major broad bean picking and podding sesh this weekend to restock the freezer and (whispers shamefully) there are still even a few of the 2015 crop in there, too. Ooops.:o

Onions are looking like many of them are going to be absolute whoppers this year, they tend to do pretty well as my lottie gets the full sun and, as long as the soil is rich enough, they grow gangbusters.

I have a full size lottie (300 square meters) and it can be a bit of a handful at this time of the year, I feel like I'm spinning plates, trying to stop various areas from getting out of control. But I do love it up there and it's gentle exercise (allegedly) and the fresh air and homegrown produce is good for me.

Actually, we gardeners shouldn't be too scrupulous about washing the soil off our homegrown veggies as it's reckoned the be a good way of tailoring your personal gut bacteria, sometimes referred to as your 'biome' to the right conditions for your part of the world. Happy guts = good health.

Righty, going to see what the wicked of the world are up to for a while (after checking with the Kon Marie-ers, who are most definately not counted among the wicked). Onwards and upwards, my lovelies.
