Is it possible that personal opinions are not allowed on this thread any longer?
Is it possible that we have an interpreter who knows what I am trying to say rather better than I do?
Is it possible that I am seen as a doddering old lady who needs to have the world and its workings explained in minute and easily understood words and detail?
I only ask as I would be extremely loath to continue posting here if it is!0 -
But then, on the flip side, I have a house that I rent out (it's our pension, so shoot me
). The (English) tenants stopped paying rent in August, we finally got them evicted two weeks ago.
They have immediately been rehoused into local authority (but privately owned) housing helped out by the local authority with rent. They have left a string of debts behind them (including council tax, owed to the same authority. But the council tax department asked us if we knew where they had gone)..
They also left about 6 months worth of rubbish bags, literally piled up outside their patio doors. They virtually filled a skip that we had to hire and we had to physically shovel their sh*t into it. Not to speak of the other carp they left in the house.
They have cost us thousands
The nice Eastern European family two doors away would be welcome to move in...
The government is penalising people like us by imposing 3% stamp duty on any property we buy from now. If we were a company owning 15 or more, we would be exempt. How is that fair?
I voted remain this morning...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Thank you for your message NEWSHADOW no I'm not offended but I really do know how this world works and I really do think carefully before I post what I post here.0

Maybe we could spend some of the billions we currently give to the EU, on recruiting and training more customs/border force personnel.0 -

:kisses3: I love your stuff! On this particular issue, I love that you explore your undecidedness on herejust as much as I love what people like GQ write who've already decided.
As well as about other stuff - thriftwizard, mrs moneypenny, all the regulars
