Have been reading along this thread for a few days and find it very motivating although I don't have much to contribute as yet so thanks to you all
Baby humans are cuter than baby pigeons :-).
DS1 saw the AA had winter kits for cars on offer the other day, & as I only got a car last year, I got a kit as it has lots in it that I'd have got anyway. Last years prepping the car was focussed on getting the tyres changed for better ones, keeping a bag in the boot with snack bars, blanket etc in. Car is a hatchback, but I need to see if the boot cover bit can be removed from inside the car as if not, I need to shift things into the back rather than the boot.0 -
Well - I knew the one about "Bull in field = no go area and farmer has probably done it deliberately if he knows there is a public footpath through it".
Guess that means I add to the list "Cows in field = much the same then"....and it was the farmer himself on that particular walk who told me which way it went and then added "....and theres cows in the field".
As at right now - I think I'm working out the list of Litmus Tests as to whether they've realised the "culture" is a bit different hereabouts.....usually just after I've obviously failed one:rotfl:. Cows = noted. Will take due account of that particular one....
This is a VERY dog-centred area and I'm not used to that either. I can grin at one of the first conversations I had was someone offering to sell me a dog - errrrm....no thanks. So its just me walking everywhere - and no dog with me at least.
I interpreted the expressions on the cows faces as = "We're just being nosy and friendly" rather than "Darn human - get her"...but it was still rather nerve-racking. Think if I come across that particular thing now I shall just say to them "I don't eat meat - but I could be persuaded to have a bit of beef - with all the trimmings. Yorkshire pudding to you lot if you don't walk off to the other side of the field right now...." LOL.0 -
I think part of the problem with cows is that they are handled less than they used to be - a lot of milking is automated or semi-automated so they are handled less on a regular basis, and a lot of the handling they do receive (TB testing, AI, etc is of the "ouch!" or "mind where you poke me!" variety).“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Here's the link to the video, on how to make it.

A bit of advice. Not all UK drinks cans are suitable, due to the design of the top rim. Use Vimto cans, as they definitely do work.
Also, Bio-Ethanol is cheaper, less smelly, and leaves less deposits in/on the stove, compared to meths.
So that type is more like a Trangia stove then Bob?
I have one (not original, but a cheaper brass one). Have you made a Penny stove, ie the one with holes around the top and 5 in the centre where you place a 1p or 2p to relieve the pressure.
Thinking of having a go at baking bread or a muffin so I think I need to make a penny stove with fewer holes, assume that would give a slower burn.0 -
If it's a red moon is it safe to say it's made from Edam and not green cheese?0

This is the type of stove that I made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bnIt3WT_p00

You should be able to fold the seat back/s forward from inside the car to access the boot...C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down.
