I tried that, but put on a stone in weight.

jk0 I echo what candlelight 2013 said re B12 vitamins, I was very tired for over two years, Dr's checks showed nothing wrong, but for the last 9 months I've been taking two types of vitamin B12 & B6 supplements daily (one also has iron) and have been able to accomplish more than one task a day without being totally wiped out. (My GP is aware of what I am doing and has offered no counter suggestion (except antidepressants:eek:).)
If you are not able to eat red meat you may be missing the B vits.
Best wishes.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

AnimalTribe wrote: »Minor rant - There isn't mobile phone coverage for most of the area around us, as we are very remote. It's not a problem except in midwinter when folk decide to have a trip out to see the countryside in snow. Then when they get stuck and can't get mobile reception they trek through the snow in unsuitable clothing and ask if we can help them out, because they haven't got any shovel or anything with them. Then we have to trek back with them to sort them out. Grrr
I get where you are coming from - and sympathise.
But....there is this huge human tendency to assume that "Everything everywhere IS what you are used to" personally and I can duly swear that I've never ever ever had a mobile connection problem (either way) until I moved to my current area.
That's why some people honestly won't even think of mobile reception being a problem - because it never ever has been in their own area and they've never even heard of it.....
I know...I know....and I've learnt rather different since living here :mad::(:mad::(.
Honestly - it does seem to be the case that whatever is "Normal" in our own area is what we think is "Normal" in every other part of the country too....:cool::(:o,
It is (sometimes) a huge source of astonishment just how different things can be in the same country.....0 -
Hi, just caught up, and I know it was a few pages back, but following on with the iron/not to iron. My mother has been staying with us and she is 85. We were talking about ironing and she said that they use to iron the bedding as washing did not always kill off bed bugs :eek: and so using an iron killed off any that may have survived the wash. I am now on the lookout for an old castiron iron which I could heat on my multifuel stove. I know that bed bugs are not as common anymore but I think I would rather iron than share my bed with those critters. She also said that it killed off any flea and mite eggs on clothing. If the power went off and we could not wash at higher temperatures, this would be something to consider for our health.

On the subject of iron supplements.....when my mother was pregnant with me, her doctor advised her to drink Mackeson stout for the iron it contained.
Years later I asked her why she still drank it, and she said..."Well, he never told me to stop...!"One life - your life - live it!0 -

Someone tried reversing away from the chippy into him, then wound down the window to shout at him to reverse out of her way. So he makes sure the exhaust is louder than standard now so people can hear him.
Longer term though I will really enjoy an end to petrol and diesel cars and lorries. Electric vehicles and bikes are so much quieter and no pollution either. The blind will also benefit from automated drive cars so that will reduce risks for them.
I would also like to see the blind being given wifi walking sticks so that cars can remotely detect a blind person and be automatically be forced to slow down when a blind person is close. In which case a silent car is no longer a problem.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -
