Well, they're going to *create* extremists by painting the Snowdrop in that get-up :rotfl:I wonder if any commuters still use the ferries? They really will be dazzled, seeing that first thing in the morning :rotfl:

I quite like it tho :D

Same here. I hope that they keep it as long as possible. Though I think that many commuters who do use it will be happy that they are safer now.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

  • Dazzle camouflage isn't new.

It's been in use for around a century.

The idea is to confuse the enemy, by making it difficult to tell the range, direction and speed of a vessel, hence making targeting difficult.

I wonder how many are preppers just practising?

Well....lets just say I hope not...because the last I heard was some of them are probably still nurturing the injuries they sustained somehow;) in the course of it....... As I understand it...all 4 counties here are suffering from this (were suffering <wink>) from this...but you do not mess with an irate Welshman who knows a troublemaker when he spots one....

I have lost count of how often I have been told that West Wales men "are MEN"....I don't think I shall be disputing that somehow....

    Where is everybody?
:D Bank Holiday weekend, innit? I'm at my parents' place. Dad and I have been blocking the gap in their back garden fence (well, the tree is still in the garden, but the panel it fell through is flinders). Don't want the ungodly coming in and knicking our knickers off the linen line, do we? Have you seen the price of Sl0ggis these days?!

It's a council tree and they've been told but the day before BH weekend after a few very windy days so they'll be prioritising stuff on the roads. I'd expect they'll get around to it a late next week/ early the week after. Then the repair can take place.

Actually, as the insurance will only stump up for a new panel, and there's a £100 excess, folks will be replacing the whole knackered fence. I have discussed the form the new fence should take, with one eye to the preptastic side.

They're not going to bother with the corner towers with arrow slits, moat, portcullis and gate and the radio-controlled sharks to patrol the moat, to my great disappointment.:rotfl:

    GQ

I love the idea of the moat and portcullis etc.:j

Making lasagne for tonight for six of us and just made Spanish pork and peppers with bulgar wheat for lunch as well as cooking breakfast for six of us - phew!!!

Managed to find a site with dresses I liked so have ordered a couple to try on and a nice bag and will return anything not right etc. Wedding blessing is next weekend and can't walk down the aisle in just a jacket and shoes ;)

DH still tired but can eat now which is an improvement. Never thought I would be tearing my hair out trying to put weight on someone.

Nipping out for more veg for tomorrow and caught the local butcher in time to get a family pack of meat so pleased with myself.

    Hugs

Well *I'm* voting for the radio controlled sharks :D of course, it would make your parents' homestead an actual tourist destination, GQ, so possibly not the best opsec :D still like it tho :)

Hospital visiting, then keeping relatives and neighbours informed, this afternoon was smuggling a cat into the grounds so that he could be admired through the window for a few minutes.
MiL is doing well, but it will be a long haul.

I reckon trained gulls are the best defence critter, though training them to only attack intruders will be a problem.
And feeding the cats radio controlled sharks might get expensive, and Wild Thing may need a vets visit after ingesting the electronics (and a restricted diet after her third or fourth shark).
I've always thought a portcullis is a good idea, but better in pairs with a murder space between them.
Generally my preference is post, rail and board, though with time to play with post and chain planted with quick thorn, blackthorn etc is always tempting. Some chestnut palings might be handy for the display of trophies - for the discouragement of others...
