Sometimes cabbage-y type things will grown back and sometimes they will have been too badly damaged.
If they were mine, I'd be tempted to leave them in situ and see what happens over the next couple of months. If no sign of regrowth, haul them outta there.
If you have no undamaged kale left, I would re-sow immediately, in case they don't rally and you're left totally kale-less, which is a turrible fate, as Mardatha can testify.
I don't bother with the brassicas as a class of veggie as I'd need to incarcerate them in a structure strong enough to withstand the attentions of the woodpigeons and fine enough to keep off the two species of cabbage whites, robust enough to withstand the hoolie which is normally blowing on the allotments and moveable enough to allow me to weed.
I could easily spend £30 on growing a £1 cabbage, not to mention the aggravation, and I prefer not to be aggravated in such ways. HTH.
Any birders out there who can riddle me this; why is the centre of my city, which is well-inland, infested with bliddy seagulls?
They are the most distracting things, shrieking around even after dark and as early as 4 am. I've heard of seagulls coming inland in rough weather but they've been here all ruddy summer. There's a dearth of ploughs to follow or landfill sites to pick over around the centre so I assume they're eating discarded fast food, such as those special takeaway pizzas which can only be digested if your stomach is 90% alcohol..........Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Not particularly a birder -
Easy safe predator free nest sites, ample food supplies, such as those discarded pizzas.
Rural gulls are on the decline part of which is being blamed on changes in farming and fishing practises, but urban populations are more than making up for it.
I live in a port town and am rarely bothered by them (though a few years back I lived down beside the quay and they were more of a nuisance particularly when the fishing boats were unloading.)0 -
For the second time this summer I have found slugs crawling round on my kitchen floor. Last night there were two of them about 3" long.
This also happened about 9 years ago when I first moved in here, and I went round with some sealant outside trying to seal any little holes. Now, okay, I guess some more holes may have appeared since then, and I will be going out to have a look later, but why on earth would slugs want to come in a house?
There are no leafy vegetables lying around indoors. I'd have thought slugs would be far happier outside.0 -
Slugs are hellspawn and they've come indoors to spite you. Ghastly things. I'd have a major girlie shrieking-fest if I found one indoors. Bad enough on the allotment and I kill those on sight.
The answer is Cold Steel delivered with extreme prejudice. Do clear up the remains if indoors as they little darlings also eat their own dead - ick.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Lol, that's the difference between knowing someone online and IRL. I can shriek with the best of them if certain types of creepy-crawly, esp s p i d e r s, come anywhere near my person.
Otherwise, I'm a mature and sensible woman with a (mostly) amiable temperament unless crossed. I was particularly crossed at 4 am this morning when one of my adorable neighbours slammed their door then stood outside my bedroom window yakking to a couple of mates........grr.
I supposed it didn't matter too much as the blasted seagulls had already woken me. Our area is very built-up and when you have birds that big and that noisy wheeling around at low levels screaming their heads off, it's really annoying. I heard them through closed double-glazing.
Righty, off out on some errands inc extracting some dosh from the banque. This is a Bank Holiday weekend after all..........Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
