I've only ever had 2 precog dreams in my life, the first was the night before Lockerbie and I was standing on a hill looking down on fires in the dark and when I came home from WI late on the evening it happened I saw exactly that vision on the TV screen, the other more frightening dream was the day before the Fred and Rosemary West murders were disclosed, and I was cutting up people and hiding them in the walls and the cellar and knew that no one knew about it, that was the most distressing thing I've ever encountered and I still feel the darkness when I remember it.
This latest atrocity with the Malaysian plane shot down over Ukraine is barbaric and calculated to throw real fear into anyone who is contemplating flying to any destination, we can't allow these vile and soul less people to have any hold over us in any way, we must keep life normal and not stop doing anything we would normally do including taking a flight in a plane. Give them control over even that one thing and they've won a victory over mankind and that would be the worse thing possible, to make them believe they have power and significance instead of being bestial and wicked beings (I hesitate to call them people) who can perpetrate such a wicked thing deserve to become pariahs and outcasts from the rest of humankind and hopefully suffer the consequences of thier hideous actions.0 -
If this does look like escalating, I'd suggest a trip (sooner rather than later) to B&M, to get a stove and cartridges (for those who haven't got a stove), or spare cartridges (for those who already have a stove), because, if they cut off the gas supply, you are sure going to need them.0

I had Lockerbie too MrsL.
RAS thanks for that I will look into Mizuna and Lambs Lettuce.
EDITED ; o god scrub the LL, it looks disgusting!!0 -
This is no malfunction. It was shot out of the skies but the pro Russian separatists who have loads of military advisors from Russia so Russia is culpable. That is why they are blaming the Ukrainians as this will end their possible support elsewhere. This could be our Archduke moment but it all depends on how this plays out. I suspect that further sanctions will follow and maybe a cold winter with no gas supplies but then fracking is also no solution.
I put it like that as I was being a bit diplomatic, and trying to be a but sensitive about it...
Do you think that there might be a connection between the 2 Malaysian planes?
Apart from the gas, is there any other implications that might effect usWork to live= not live to work0 -
Seriously, I'm wondering if it's another false flag event. There is a photo in today's Mail of sixteen passports laying on the ground with not a singe.
Didn't they miraculously manage to find the 911 hijackers' passports also?
I do not think that this is a false flag event. This looks like the Russian supported militia shot down the plane in mistake thinking it was a Ukrainian transport plane. I doubt that the average rebellion soldier would be able to target an aircraft without some help. Then once they realised this they backtracked very rapidly and started trying to deflect the blame on to the Ukrainians hoping to turn this around.
The fact that there are passports intact is not really surprising. If the plan had its tail shot off the passengers would be killed by the ground impact not necessarily the missile. Passports would not be destroyed by the fall. If there was a fire on the ground some would be destroyed in the flames but some would survive. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

Agree this may well be one side or the other thinking it was blowing an enemy transport plane out of the sky. I understand that Russian media suggested that the Ukranian Govt was targetting Putin's red, white and blue presidential plane? Pretty good eyesight then?
The locals I saw interviewed on TV suggested that the plane blew apart and they saw people falling from the skies. Some cabin baggage could have survived the impact with documents intact particularly if it was light and had a high surface area.
There would have been others that were in the large chunk that appears to have landed and caught fire.
For what it is worth I am glad this was not another Lockerbie in the full sense, in that it appears to have missed the nearby settlements so casualties on the ground have been low or nil.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Gas shortages might be much more of a problem for Germany and eastern Europe. I think we are not as dependent on Russian gas, though the gas price could rocket and what gas we will have petrol shortages as it uses a lot of electricity to refine oil into petrol and we could have power cuts though this could be managed.
Germany might be better prepared than we expect as they have a lot of solar panels, and a gas panic could encourage them to accelerate the greening of their energy supply. I do not think that will happen here. I suspect that our powers that be will learn the wrong lesson and rush for a fracking solution instead. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

I suspect some in our current government have seen the situation in the US where fracking has made a major difference to the energy balance and want some here. Would not be surprised if some have a stake as well and any energy crisis will demand a quick and easy response for which this probably has the shortest lead in time.
They will be crapping themselves at the thought of a long winter with energy supply problems like the Winter of Discontent with knobs on. Partly because we actually store a lot less fuel in the country than previously. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
and we could have power cuts though this could be managed.
It won't be very manageable, given 40% of our electricity generation is gas powered.
Essentially, you would be looking at one half of the country being without electricity one day, and the other half without the next day.
Also, power cuts would be most likely timed, to coincide with periods of high demand, namely first thing in the morning, ie. breakfast times, and early evening, ie. evening meal time.0 -
I think most of our gas comes from Norway and Qatar, though depending on how long those contracts are they might find that they are now having to pay a lot more for it. That will mean that prices could go up though for many it will mean rethinking how they heat their homes.
Also most high users will be cut off in cases of shortages as a matter of their contracts so that will mean mainly industry suffering in the short term. Electricity companies might have lower supply but they will be able to cut off industrial users very rapidly.
The fact that there is no practical reason for our privatised utilities having surplus capacity is one of the main flaws in the privatisation process.
In the US the reserves of gas from fracking has been reduced to 22 years (10 proven and 12 probable) in total not the hundreds of years that the industry initially claimed. That could be the same here and excludes all the externalities like water loss etc. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0
