  • DS is 21 next year
He has asked for a year's membership of the archery club (we usually buy jewellery for milestone birthdays) I think it is a great idea because he loves it so much.
Our neighbour who got him into it in the first place, has said that he can use one of his bows to start off with, which will be a big saving.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

    :D I wondered.

One of the peeps at class (grown man in his twenties btw) jokingly asked Teach if our kind of arrows were suitable for shooting zombies come the apocalypse? Teach was deadpan, advised you need special arrows for that and that he has them at home, as does every serious archer.

;) Good to know that some people have prepared for every eventuality, isn't it?

  • In what way are the zombie shooting arrows special?

    Silver tipped?

    Radioactive tipped?

    Explosive tipped?

  • You will definitely need plenty of TP, when TSHTF. :D
  • You know that your friends and neighbours consider you to be 'alternative' by the gifts they give you and you know yourself just how alternative you've become by the depth of your own reaction to those gifts, yes? Today I had just come home from shopping in town when the door bell bingley bongled and there was my neighbour, a slightly alternative 30 something who we get along with extremely well and who knows us pretty well too. 'I've got you a present Lyn' she said 'You'll have to come and get it though 'cos I'm not going to pick it up and I'm going to hold the dog very tightly on his lead or he'll have it in a trice!!!' OK thinks I, Hmmmmmm what can this be, this is the lady who shares my passion for slow worms!!! So I duly followed her into her garden and she pointed to a flower pot in the shade of a shrub and said 'In there' and when I looked it was a baby toad, about an inch long and totally adorable in every way looking at me with his little orange eyes, he's beautiful and he's now living in my big clump of Irises beside the pond. I bet none of you have been given a toad today have you Lucky, lucky ME!!!

Not a toad in sight here Lyn, but I was given a stash of fabric pieces. I might make some bunting to pretty-up the garden.

  • Just got myself another LED bulb.

Was in ALDI, and spotted a 4.8W (32W equivalent) LED bulb, for £4-99.

This one doesn't even need an adapter, as it's BC fitting.

    Now installed in my bedroom.
