Sadly I wonder how many of those people are still alive now :(.

As of April 2005, it is estimated that 25,000 have died since the disaster of diseases such as lung cancer, leukaemia, and cardiovascular diseases, and 70,000 are permanently disabled.

Twenty percent of the deaths are believed to be suicides.

Cornishchick, just realised that you have had a bit of S hitting the F, on re-reading the last page. Hope you are OK and that things are settling down for you now.

  • At the end of the movie The Time Machine (the original, not the dreadful remake), Mrs. Watchett notices that George has taken three books with him, into the future.

David poses the question, if you were going to rebuild a world, which three books would you choose?

So, I'll now pose the same question.

To rebuild the world, after a EOTWAWKI event, which three books would choose?

    1.) The Bible
2.) The Web of Debt (Ellen Hodgson Brown)
3.) Tragedy & Hope (Carroll Quigley)

    1) How It Works (I'd prefer the two volume edition, but currently only have the 70s single volume)

    2) The Complete Book of Self Sufficiency - John Seymour aka the yellow bible.

    3) I'd like a copy of a friends herbal, which is a cross between a Culpepper and Maybe's Food for Free, however I presume I'm restricted to published works so a modern edition of Culpepper's Complete Herbal.

My life has changed dramatically and will never be the same again.
My husband passed away. He had terminal cancer , which gave us time to make preps for this time in my life, such as paperwork plans for the funeral etc.
This has ment I "only" have to deal with the emotions. So I'm just carrying on keeping going. Pulling myself up by my boot straps, and facing each new day and challenge as bravely as he did.
As my beloved used to say " tis what it is, all we can do is face it full on"

Good to see you posting CC.
Sometimes keeping going is the best we can do, there's no "only" when it comes to emotions and there's always something we didn't foresee when we planned our preps.
Doing what we can is sometimes the best we can do. And your beloved spoke wise words.
