Post 1971 about the Greek guy and people in the States wanting to buy the debt, I have some comments I want to make but I need internet to find those articles from the financial times first. The FT is an excellent newspaper. So this post is more a note to me to try and do that if I have internet back tomorrow, I don't want to use up all my mobile internet allowance in one day! Going to get a spare SIM now that I can activate for one months unlimited internet incase of an emergency. And I should always have a spare charged up battery for my phone, too many things to buy.0

I'm back had a great meeting but fear the housing assoc have now painted a target on my head as I told them a few home truths!
Met one of Boris' chums so had to be polite and he was actually a rather lovely man
Poorlies are all tucked up in bed,OH is attached to his Xbox so peace reigns at last.I've had a bit of a day today, even the dog left me on the field and took herself home :rotfl:
Tomorrow I'm going to be mostly making green tom chutney and green tom pickle *thanks dippy* for the storecupboard.I've also kept a few to ripen up as advised.
Caterina hun I'll give you my details when we meet up and you'd always be more than welcome here if you ever needed to get out of dodge! I soo know what you mean about the ipad I get relegated here to using it and I struggle badly, its a little too high tech for me
So many great posts today it'll take me a while to get up to speed..0 -

He had not complained about it and it healed quickly.
We get aloe vera gel in a tube, not expensive and brill for burns, sunburn and general sore skin-very soothing.

Hunters you may have to explain how that works to me (I'm a total technophobe!)
Molly my courgettes are ok but sadly lost all my pumpkins apart from that one but can I cadge the recipe please? I love pie..
2T do you think there will be enough shops still open to keep people supplied during the winter months,it must be such a worry for you both
Soph I got a cheapo cashbox from Amazon to keep a bit of cash in.Less than a weeks wages and have it well hidden under all my junk thanks for those ideas re hiding it Mar0 -
Ali where do you get the aloe vera from, I would love some for OH's sores - due to his meds and lousy immune system. I was going to buy a plant the other day but they were a fiver for about 3 shoots
Sophie nice to hear from you. I keep my cash safe apart from a huge amount of copper under Oh's bed which I only found this week, they could try and nick it but would probably get a hernia trying to run away with it :rotfl: theives check pages of books and fish tank lids for cash - I know from a friend being broken into. You could find good places to hide it if you think carefully, maybe a fake tin amongst your 96 tins of tomatoes Caterina - I think you will easily use those up as you are a veggie arent you? Having the basis of 96 meals is very comforting I think. I have 25 tins of mushy peas and sliced ham in the freezer so lots of meals there. I also have 2 kg of salt and want more especially if the snow comes.Clearing the junk to travel light

I try to behave online as I am in real life..what you see on here is what you get..I don't have an online persona..wish I did she'd be a darn sight better looking than the real me lol
Phrasing can often be misconstrued when it is not accompanied by a smile or facial expressions
I would never knowingly upset, offend or I hope make anyone ever feel uncomfortable with my posts I try to think before I write and if I can't say anything nice I let it remain unsaid just as in real life.
ALL threads should be open to ALL posters without anyone having to worry thats the true spirit of MSE isn't it???

That's my attitude but I do seem to get into trouble occasionally:p"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pictures and film footage of York - husband comes from that region and went to uni there - horrified.
My parents in law are on hols in Stockley Bridge area on the banks of the River Derwent :eek::eek: They phoned last night and are ok but shocked. I suggested a BOB to them and for once they didnt scoff at my suggestion. So it does pay to be prepared even on holidays:eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I get the tubes of aloe vera when they're on offer in the health food shops - if I'm lucky, I can get the big tubes buy 1, get 1 free, & the dates unopened are enough they'll last 2 years easily, assuming I don't have any to start with.
I have a plant as well, so when I burnt myself on curry sauce from the chip shop, after holding my hand under the tap, broke a leaf open & held it in place with a cold damp cloth. It did heal well, & put me off chip shop curry sauce, which is definitely money saving!
But the tubes are jolly handy for out & about.0
