A quick question. Just wondered if people carried a day bag what kind of things do you have in there? I've started a BOB and need to finish that. Change of clothing. Toiletries. Passport for ID. Wind up torch. Details of utilities. Who I'm with and phone numbers. Just thinking if there was a fire I could just grab the bag. Also the cat:)

I have a 'man-bag' that has my overalls, safety shoes, a few screwdrivers, and also loo paper, that comes around with me to various flats I am working on. Also it will have a pint of milk and my lunch, and any small tools I need that day.

I carry enough bus fare in coins to get home in the event of a break down.

I hate throwing food away and I don't mind eating out of date stuff but I will not risk our health by eating from rusty cans.

I am going have a major eat through the stock cupboard and replace what I use.

Si Clist I lurve my kelly kettle, the trick is to have the firebox facing windwards to get it going well.

Well... I've maintained a good food store over these winter months, ready for a repeat of last years big snows, which this year... haven't come!
And, touch wood, at this stage of March, significant snow fall isn't very likely.
Have decided to start the process of eating up the freezer and stock cupboard, with a view to building it up again from about October onwards.
Because it's fun to have money!

It also comes as part of the full kits options.

Stuffed I am, just had our first Cobb session of the year and cooked way too much as usual even for our gannets!

Have been gardening most of the day and have had to put the trays in to soak in the greenhouse as its been so warm.

Hope everyone has been able to enjoy the glorious sunshine X

:p You know you have a standing invitation to move Sarf to various sheds, Mar! Better make it quick before they seal the borders.....:rotfl:

I have been grafting away in the glorious sunshine, avec sun hat (think Worzel Gummidge rather than Edwardian Lady) and have finished planting the potatoes. Oh, the sheer relief of having that job done.

Passing strangers are admiring my broad beans. :D The ones sown last autumn and now 2.5 feet tall and in flower. Oh, the deep satisfaction of having something growing when all else is lurking underground.

And I have seen bumblebees. In fact, due to their habit of exploring potato holes for nest sites, I have darned near planted a bumblebee queen today, bless her furry self. Disaster was averted in the nick of time.
