Today was a good day. Pineapple had the stitches and scabby bits removed from her chin so it looks like she will be able to go to a party at the weekend without people backing off. :rotfl:Plus her favourite charity shop was having a sale! She got a lovely handbag, some quality shoes that fit like a dream, a funky party shirt for the weekend and 6 beautiful wine glasses (not yer basic supermarket type
). All for the princely sum of £11. Then to top it all she received the pristine ex demo Sky box - half price and complete with guarantee. We are chuffed. The old one - a big ugly metal box - is off to the Antiques Road Show.
Weird weather. Hail one moment, spring sunshine the next. The sleds and snow shovels etc are languishing forlorn and unsold in the shops - we'd have been better off investing in waterproofs and galoshes  It's tempting to start on spring planting. But a bit of winter might yet sneak in...0 -

That sounds about right. Our ones have always owned all of the furniture (except the hard bits which they are not interested in). The new one even matches the furniture. It's that "no I don't want to get down off this chair to make room for guests, I'm quite comfortable thank you" look that they all have that makes me know they are part human. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Can I ask a wee bit of advice ? Do you find dehydrators and vacuum sealers something that you use ?
I was thinking of getting one of each but don't want it to become another gadget that grows dust
If so can anyone recommend a certain model? Was thinking of the Excalibur for a dehydrator but that's very expensive tbh0 -
Dehydrators are worth their weight in anything you care to name. I had an EXCALIBUR 9 tray model for a joint christmas present from the family a couple of years ago and it's really up to the job. We grow much produce in a large garden, polytunnel, greenhouse and allotment and always in the past have run our of freezer space before the growing season has ended and that's with me also making jams and chutneys. The dehydrator reduces bulk to such an extent that vast amounts of fruit and veg can be stored in a much smaller space and without the use of electricity. I don't have a vacuum sealer but keep dry things in kilner jars and they store very well indeed. My present this year was a big american pressure canner which I've yet to use but again, the finished product means storage without having to use electricity, can only be good!!! Lyn xxx.0

Thanks mrs lurcherwalker... That was the one I was looking at, bought myself an american pressure canner at the tail end of last year, haven't had the chance to use it yet though, I do find the jars expensive though so will need to try and source a cheaper place for them... I may just treat myself to the dehydrator this year and the sealer next year then ... I'm hoping the sealer will allow me to store more things due to lack of space ... Which is a bit silly as I know it will take up space but you get my drift I'm sure0

I hope you don't mind me saying MrsL but there are a group of men going round our area trying to get dogs just like yours. They have taken to threatening people for their dogs a few miles away I saw on the RSPCA site. I am definitely being more vigilant after my SIL was chased the other day.
May I suggest a taser to the nether regions if approached.Today was a good day. My DDs are fascinated and disgusted in equal measure that I still remember most of the words to My Old Man's a Dustman. As well as Right Said Fred
But GQ I'm sure you don't look a proper 'nana in your allotment boots. And I expect daisy roots are a doddle compared with couch grass
But you never get nowhere if you're too 'asty
My Dad has a copy of the original "dustman" song and I think its signed by LD himself, know the words myself lol, ah the sound of the washboard. Also partial to a bit of Dave Brubeck thanks to Dad's extensive and pretty eclectic record collection when growing up. He has everything from 78's onwards, 1950's through to today, plus alot of classical and even boxes of sheet music sat next to the piano.
I have heard the song Right said Fred and also used to like the early 90's band of the same name. Still listen to their album "up"-"deeply dippy" great light fluffy pop song lol.
My record collection is pretty odd from heavy metal, to pop, and classical to jazz.
