I live in the middle of a very large block of flats and there are strict regulations about what you can have/use. My main cooker is gas and has been a lifesaver during previous power outages. It just so happens that if one flat has a power 'problem' it can affect others around it or even us all.0

There were gas camping stoves in Wilkin*ons today reduced to £10, if that's any use, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Presumably Hexamine isn't prohibited?
True you can't use it indoors, but in a desperate situation, you could set it up outside, to boil water or heat soup.
How about storing a bottle of meths/bio-ethanol?
Come to that, would anyone know, if you kept a minature gas stove and canister, secreted somewhere?
Indeed, some are so small, you could keep them (and a small gas canister) in the pocket of an overcoat.
I'm guessing the tenancy agreement doesn't include the right, for them to search the clothes hanging in your cloakroom?0 -
Use Bio-Ethanol, instead of meths, PP.
It's cheaper and cleaner.0 -

If you are referring to the Highlander Stove Compact, there's a similar one (with the addition of Piezo ignition) on Amazon, for about half the price.
However, for low running costs (as opposed to super lightweight), get one of these from B&M.
A pound cheaper than the Highlander, more stable, and a lot cheaper to run, at £1 per 220g cylinder (equivalent to £2-28 per 500g), compared to £5+ for a 500g canister for the Highlander.0 -

I didn't really look at the actual stove Bob as we've got several various cookers already, just looked at the price on the shelf as I walked past and thought that it was pretty Ok. The stoves certainly looked similar to the one in your picture but were blue not red, I know, Pay more attention woman!!!! Cheers Lyn x.0
