These use tealights.
Not the paraffin ones then. I haven't seen tea light ones, will have a closer look next week. Thanks X0 -
Thanks guys. I've been to see the family doctor and he's told me to take as long as I need before I go back to work. The surgeon classified me as fit to return today! All because the bit he was fixing is considered fixed in his eyes. Doesn't matter about the other broken bits!
Sons are making sweet and sour chicken from the stash. And yes, they had to buy veggies (stir fry mix, they have everything for a $1.49 which is really good value). They've put aside some rice and chicken bits for me.0 -

I had a voucher for money off at the local Co-Op so I've invested that in a tin of stewed steak and 2 large packets of Teabags to go into the store. I know it sounds daft to be prepping for the colder months but we have more of them than heatwaves like the one we have at present. Yesterday we had our first load of logs delivered for the woodstove and stacked 18 piled high wheelbarrowloads away, we have an even bigger load coming next week, what's the bet it will be even hotter then? This just confirms to our neighbours that we are a certain type of crazy but if you order now I'm sure you get more for your money than later in the year, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

'a swift and uncomplicated recovery' what a marvelous way to put it
anyway wonder collie take it easy hunny and feel well soon.
mcjordi, I feel for you, I really do. Hopefully they will realise its cheaper to leave you where you are, it costs thousands to evict someone. Luckily my HA are not as stupid and have said it would be cruel to move us to a smaller place with OH being so ill - it would also look bad on the front page of the paper  We are paying the BT but noticed we are falling short so will have to scrape some more pennies together - they put the rent up after the calculations
If you are a facebook person there is a thread with helpful people on it -bedroom tax..think its unfair..join the fight here.Clearing the junk to travel light

Don't let it go to court, you'll only get court costs added to it and what they are trying to do is get you to pay up thinking you can afford it and won't pay, rather than can't afford it.
Speak to them, give them a statement of your finances and offer what you can, even if it's £2-£5 pm off the arrears in addition to usual rent.
If they refuse (which I would be surprised if they did) then a judge can see you have offered what you can afford, rather than not paying because you won't but could afford it. Judge won't evict and will direct them to accept offer if it is all you could afford.
I helped someone last year with 3 months arrears and arranged for them to pay it off over 3 years. That was agreed 3 days before the court date. Good luck
EDIT: If it's the bedroom tax, rent out the spare room if you want to stay put.0 -
If you having problems with paying the top up on your rent because of the reduction in Housing Benefit - why not apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment from your local council?:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
