GQ - if the ankle deep in rice pudding bothers them too much send 'em down to us, I guarantee you'll be quite normal in thier eyes after visiting us!!!!! Lyn x.
:D LMAO. My parents used to think I was a trifle peculiar and there were quips that if I hadn't been a home birth they'd've sworn someone had swopped me, or that there's one in every litter. Then they got to meet one of my more eccentric pals (it was 15 years ago, they still marvel over the encounter) and realised that compared to Some Other People's Daughters, they got off lightly!

Anyroad, if it was limited to the rice pudding, I might pass it off as a food craving. But there's FB pies and sweetcorn and tinned peas and the well-hidden pasta mountain.......

Ach well, pals are at their jobs tho one sometimes drops in for a cuppa on the way home. SuperGran might come over but she's known I'm a bit cracked for years and still seems to like me.

;) When it goes wrong, I shall make sure she's OK for food and water, don't you fret.

:D Oh, I suppose I don't think of that as I'm not on Facebook.......... can't be doing with updating statuses and all that stuff, it'd eat into the amount of time I can spend hanging out on MSE. :D

2Tonsils:- This was on the bbc web-site today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19491266

As far as I can see they want people to work 13 hour days for six days a week. Protected workers rights are going to be removed. If anything is going to start riots this stuff will. Be careful and be safe.
Give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”

the content of that link follows incase you cant link thru 2Tonsils:

Longer working week suggested for Greece

There have been many demonstrations against the austerity measures agreed so far

Greece's international lenders have suggested measures including increasing the maximum working week to six days.

It is one of several unofficial proposals to liberalise the labour market and increase government revenue, contained in a paper seen by the BBC.

The proposals were not included in the original bailout agreement signed with the Greek government.

Inspectors from the EU, IMF and European Central Bank, known as the troika, are due in Greece this week.

They are writing a report, due in October, that will decide whether Greece receives its next instalment of bailout funds.

Greece needs the next payment of 31.5bn euros ($39.6bn; £24.9bn) to allow it to continue servicing its debts.

Proposals in the document from the troika included:
    • Setting a single rate statutory minimum wage
    • Reducing regulatory burdens
    • Making work schedules more flexible
    • Setting a minimum daily rest of 11 hours
    • Eliminating restrictions on the minimum and maximum time between morning and afternoon shifts.
Also, on Wednesday, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble ruled out a third package of aid for Greece, but stressed that it would be staying in the eurozone.

"The costs for Greece are already very high and therefore we cannot have a new programme for Greece," he told German radio.

Greece was given a 110bn-euro package in May 2010 and a further 130bn euros in October 2011, along with a 100bn-euro debt write-off.

European President Herman Van Rompuy is due to meet Greek leader Antonis Samaras on Thursday.
    Euro bailout
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Commission - the group of donor bodies known collectively as the "troika" - are examining whether Greece is making sufficient progress towards reforming its public finances.

Greece is currently trying to finalise a package of 11.5bn euros ($14.4bn; £9.1bn) of spending cuts over the next two years.

It is also being asked to put in place economic and structural reforms, including changes to the labour market and a renewed privatisation drive.

The measures are needed to qualify for the next 33.5bn-euro instalment of its second 130bn-euro bailout.

Greece needs the funds to make repayments on its debt burden. A default could result in the country leaving the euro. /end paste from link

Have discovered I still have access to this group so will post while I can. My internet is still being blocked on facebook, twitter and emails so I have little communication worldwide. The phones are also playing up. Someone thinks this site is not a threat so I still have it lol.

Glad we have stocks of fuel , food and a little money in just in case. We have water in all the time as our mains water is not drinking quality. We use huge containers from the spring as its cleaner than bottled water.

I feel as though I am slipping into prep mode and dont even know why at the moment. But I trust my intuition! Today we are doing some work around the house to prep it for the winter, or when the SHTF...not sure which will happen first.

Have heard from friends in C**prus ( changed so they don't block it) that there are a lot of stealth aircraft and helicopters heading east from there.

Later peeps! Meanwhile I am happy, fit and optimistic......the aliens are coming to save us LOL

Stay safe 2tonsils & good prepping. Very scary & our thoughts are with you.
  • No more basics rice pud for me unless I do an on-line order, my Mr S don't sell it any more and told me today they only have 15 basic lines and plan to phase them out by end of month.

Did get their basics stock cubes though, they seem to sell them for either 10p or 80p never seen them any other price and today was10p so bought a few - well 26 boxes, all they had out, most are vegetable ones but did get the chicken and beef as well..........so not to bad for grand total of £2.60. They are not the best but not the worst, cannot abide knorr, horrible taste as far as I am concerned, these even just in a mug with boiling water make a decent cup a soup and cheaper than those.

Drs were paying visits on ministers in North Greece today as they wanted to be paid, how shocking fancy thinking the government should pay them, after all they are doctors should be only concerned with caring for the sick, tongue in cheek in case anyone is wondering. Well doubt any of them sat down over a nice glass of Ouzo(powerful stuff that) and discussed the weather.

Am sure the ministers will have more visitors after today's news
Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

PAH, do you mean ALL Sainsbugs Basic lines are going? Even (shaking slightly) the TEABAGS?!

Is this common knowledge or have you got an inside track on Sains? I'm rather fond of their Basics tomato soup as well as the teabags. Can see a trip after work on my horizon today.......poor Jiffy is earning her keep since being towed off the shop floor and into serfdom as my trolley.

11 + hours workdays for 6 days a week. Ye gods and little fishes, this is back to 19th century levels. There'll be murder done. Hope 2tonsils is OK.
