    Morning all :D

Had a bit of carp news *again*! yesterday so wasn't in the mood to be 'social' what is going on this year is it 'cos it's got a 13 in it? :(

Sis in laws mum has just been told she has breast cancer and my friend's mum couple of doors up has just been told she's terminal..both lovely women and both the glue that holds the families together..I feel a bit helpless today TBH.

DS3 and OH are off on their hols soon DS is going to butlins with the school cue much hyperventilating from me,you can imagine :o but I need to let him do things like this (so I'm told) and OH is going fishing with a mate..it won't be a rest as I'll spend most of the week fretting like I usually do :rotfl:

Then DS2 is due to go in for his heart op in July so if I suddenly disappear into the ether you'll know why. I usually clean when I'm stressed,by rights my house should be really spotless so not quite sure what has gone wrong!!

Very pleased to hear all the gardens are starting to produce, makes all the hard work worthwhile and there's no better feeling than going out the back door and picking dinner :T

I've great plans to store shedloads this year so we'll see how that works out..I usually start well with the canning and dehydrating then get over run and end up freezing everything :o
I've no excuse this year as I have 'the beast'

Right need to crack on my tins need resorting as OH has been delving for his sweetcorn etc and made a mess..

Have a great day all XXX

ETA Alfsmum I think I posted a recipe for courgette and mint soup on here somewhere?? If not I'll repost :)

BB sorry to hear about your prang on the tender bits ouch! Thanks for the link it's fab and explains why my dad (catering corp ) always cooks a little too much for dinner lol in fact thats probably why I do too having an army cook (national service) and a school dinner lady as parents

3Ds There is no reason why you can't freeze then dehydrate most veg. I dry shop bought frozen veg all the time. Less work and can take advantage of good prices.

Shropshire lass thats ridiculous isnt it ? The poor farmers are having a tough time without us all becoming veggies. I agree we should all eat more fruit and veg but I cannot live without a bacon butty:D It should be about choice and how we spend our own money. As for GMO's they will back them as they are controlled by big companies who make a fortune out of them - the USA is having a terrible time with farmers fighting for the right to use their own seed and other issues.

DD&D so sorry you are having a tough time sending hugs and am here for you if you need me. xx

Butterfly - OUCH! hope you are ok.

Just spent ages in MR T working out prices, He*mans mayo - £1.99 for 400gms or same price for 700 gms. I was dazed by the time I came out. Did bag some nice pasta reduced to 50p, other than that the prices have gone up again. Oh tomato ketchup was reduced to 19p so check it out if you use a lot. I got a cooked full turkey leg on the market for £1.99 yet it was £2.20 for just the drumstick in Mr T. Going to wander my garden till my brain re-boots :D
