Section 75 refund

I was supposed to fly from Belfast to London tomorrow for the vintage festival which has since been cancelled. I bought two sets of flights to England in one transaction on my mothers credit card, the total being £180 (the flights for this week alone were over 100) is my mother entitled to request a refund?? Tesco credit card people said for her to contact easyjet who refused.

I am confused as I thought it would be with tesco not easyjet??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Btw I don't mind both flights being cancelled if needs be.

The flights would only have been covered if you had purchased specific travel insurance which covered you against the cancellation of the festival - and I'm not even sure if you can purchase this!

The credit card won't refund as the service is still being supplied. There would only be a claim against the credit card if for instance the airline failed and could no longer provide the service - this isn't the case.

The airline haven't done anything wrong and no doubt your tickets were non-cancellable (and probably non-changeable going by the price). That is why they won't entertain a refund.


You may be able to recover the cost of the festival tickets from the organisers, but you won't be able to recover your flights from them.

Can't you still go to London for a short break and do something else?
