Try the repir tool, right click the icon on the system tray (next to the clock) and click repair.

You could also try moving the laptop closer to the access point/router and see if it improves.
  • done that... ask your network admin i am the network admin. router very close, we only have a small house. green stick flashes and wireless is on but not connected, but computer not picking up any wireless at all.

I'm guessing it's a USB adapter you're using on the laptop - try uninstalling it from add/remove programs & then reinstalling.
  • It isn`t, the computer is only 11 months old and has wireless built in.

ok i had this problem with mine,

have you gotta button on the bottom left `Fn` ?
also on the top `f` keys is there an wireless icon (mines on `f2) it looks like a dot with 3 arcs on each side?

press them both together, it may just work.

All the Fn and F2 or what ever it is the keyboard key press for turning the wireless on and off.

As for the laptop only being 11 months old means jack things do fail and go faulty.

hopefully you know all the settings for your wireless connection? the following instructions will remove the connection and reconfigure it.

    open control panel
double click network connections if you don't have network connections click the switch to classic view in the top left.
right click on your wireless connection then click properties
click the wireless networks tab and remove the connection that is related to your connection that isn't working.

You can try the automatic connect thing it will probably pop up with a wireless network found anyway. I have found it to be a bit hit and miss if it works great if not keep reading

    now click add
enter the SSID (name) of your wireless router or access point
set it to shared key and enter the WEP/WPA key you should have, if it is an ISP provided device the key is normally on the device somewhere.
Click connect and hopefully it will work
I may have missed a step out to wards the end if I have when I get to check later I will edit my post.
