The only reason I've still got the card is becuase of the unique ability to make payments via another CREDIT card via their online account manager.

    Hmmm didn't know that

seems not alot of people do, very very useful! it doesnt even state on the site, it just says payment by card or even debit card but I dont have a problem paying via my cap 1 or even nationwide classic.

in effect it allows you to grab your little cashback from asda, make a payment right at the end of the payment period via another card, wait for the other card statement to be issued and then pay at the end of the new payment period, well over 75 days if i play my cards right!

loads of advantages, the xtra time created to pay off helps in some months where money is tight and also cashback from 2 different cards for essentially 1 transaction :j

How do u get this pre-paid card?

    NHSDiscounts.com

They send you a reloadable card. You can reload £10 upwards at a 3.5% discount.

Isn't that a site which "provides great offers exclusively for NHS employees and their families" whereas presumably this Asda cashback credit card is open to all (subject to status and acceptance)

    Your missing one key point:

"NHSDiscounts provides great offers exclusively for NHS employees, their families, and friends"

So just sign up and grab the card if your interested. I'm sure you know someone in the NHS, even if not personally :)

and since there is no credit card, I'd say it really is open to all.

I would be interested in the pre-paid card, but when looking to register it does ask Do you work for the NHS and there is not an 'no' option.

I do know someone who works for the NHS and receives newsletters from nhsdiscounts so I will see if they can help.

    I will post my findings.

You don't have to work for the NHS, Just select the "NHS Staff Friend" option.

Only a few discounts (such as the Black card) require you to actually be NHS staff, and these require additional verification (eg, your NHS email address).

I've just checked this out. You can register as NHS Staff Friend but the Asda card is only available to staff members, not family or friends.
