Desperately needed help

I don't know what to do. Ihave in the £28thousands debt due to an extended period off work, when I got ESA but withoutgoings at£2500 per month. No alternative but to lose house or lose job.

I have chronic IBS.extreme of toilet habit, if i make it in time, incontinence, problems when out, in case off loo vicinity

As you can imagine, my life is restrictive. While my job could be done at hone, my boss wont alllow it. I cant change jobs becuase of poor attendance. Besides,my boss compares to his wifes ibs-and as anyone knows, no 2 types are same.

I am classified disabled, that Ihave no quality of life, no family nearby. I am depressed and don't see a way out.

My union is fighting for me. But my boss wants me out, I am in middle management.

Any thoughts/

Sorry to hear of your illness and the financial troubles you're having.

Just wanted to say my boss did this too. My job could easily have been done from home and the company even had a work/life balance policy in place but he flatly refused to consider working from home. Please talk this through with the Equality and Human Rights Commission - http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/

There are phone numbers for England, Scotland and Wales on their website and they are very good at keeping a log of what you've said so you don't have to repeat yourself too much if you ring back. They give you a reference number so have a pen handy.

They will advise you about the law surrounding reasonable adjustments and maybe offer up some other ideas for your work situation.

    Best of luck.

I can't help on the work aspect, but £2500 a month outgoings is massive! You could post a Statement of Affairs on the Debtfree Wannabe board for help and advice on reducing this.
  • ACAS might also be worth talking to about equality of opportunity, reasonable adjustment etc.
If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...

why don't you follow your own advice or quotes, or don't you understand them.
To advance deliberately means means to only think of what you do want rather than what you dont have.

I realise that the problem has arisen from a lower income but the same bills, but I still think that your bills are high, hence my suggestion that you post an SOA. It wasn't meant as a criticism, but as a possible way to help you.

Can I be nosy and ask was your IBS diagnosed properly? Ie after blood tests & scopes came back normal? No red flag symptoms present?

Lots of GP's these days diagnose IBS without any tests which is plain wrong...

Are you on any treatment? There isn't alot out there but some of the pills can help.

    I know this won't stop attacks/problems 100% but just a thought.

Your Dr can help or maybe you could be referred to a Gastro consultant, from what you've said your IBS is severe enough to justify a referral to a specialist.

I've been on the wrong end of a false IBS diagnosis so I always ask folk because I don't want what happened to me happen to anyone else!

You can also look into wearing something for continence at work, I know there is a stigma to wearing pads but no one would know I have one which makes like a billion times easier.
