Power of Attorney

Tomorrow is going to be a very sad day. Our dearest mum who is in her 90s has alzheimer's and hospital has recommended we now invoke our Powers of Attorney. Financial forms filled in, principal copy of documents obtained and going to the bank tomorrow.
She is a prime target for doorstep scammers or muggers as she says out loud her pin number at the bank and post office when withdrawing money. We are going to ensure she has control of day to day living expenses at the moment but will ensure savings and investments are safe.
Our next hurdle is arranging some day to day care for her as she does not realise she needs it and we cannot be there 24/7.
She said the other day that it is so sad when your role of a Mum ceases and her children take over the caring.
Old age is cruel.
