Poor Credit Rating but want to balance transfer !!

Can anyone help......

I currently have about £5000 on credt cards and just paying the minimum each month on all and therefore paying lots of interest.

I had a CCJ about 5 years ago and a default about 4 years ago. However in the last few years never missed any payments.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a company who might accept me for a credit card so i can offload some balances and start clearing my existing debts???

Help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.......!!!

Until the CCJ and Default have gone off your file you are going to be very hard pressed to get any sort of decent card, they will stay on file for 6 years.

Have the CCJ and Default been satisfied............

Have you checked your CRA's files recently, before you apply for anything get them checked out first, and see what's on them.

    Yes they are both satisfied.

I have checked my CRA files and they are the only two of their kind. Apart from those, a couple of late payments a couple of years ago but thats about it.

Would i be best to wait until they are both gone then, or there any cards out there i could use to begin crawling back??

Hi, unfortunalty these CCJ's are the kiss of death when it comes to obtaining any meaningful / decent apr credit satisfied or not.

If you need cards to rebuild credit but without balance transfer you could try

    Capital One
    Halifax Aqua
    Vanquis

But be warned the aprs can be anything upto 50% !!!!!

Just a thought, do u have a family memeber who has a good rating who would be willing to get a card in their name and transfer your balance onto it ??? Just a thought but this would be a way round it :)

As well as the cards mentioned above, you could give Citicards a try, they have been known to give cards with a less than perfect history.

But dont apply for too many at once, too many searches on your file is a sure way of getting zilch............
