Car Insurance - Cancelling half way through
Options
Hello,
I rencently took out car insurance at £300.00. This was an automatic renewal. This was up 60 quid from last year. But i was working away and didnt have time to search properly and it slipped my mind.
Can i cancel half way through the year and get a refund or am i stuck with the policy until it ends?
Thanks

Depends on your policy - most will let you cancel half way through, but they may deduct a hefty "cancellation fee" from any refund they give you, which will quite possibly make it cheaper to put it down to experience and shop around earlier next year. Only way to find out for sure is to read the small print and do some sums.0

Have you actually checked to see if you can get a cheaper policy? £300 is towards the lower end anyway so you might not find one for a great deal less. Also, if you are building up a NCD then the time you've spent on the current policy won't count towards it as it's usually only complete years that are allowed.0
