It doesnt really matter that 3 people on here dont want to do a part time NMW job, your supporting them regardless of their attitude. Thats the way it is so you might as well accept it.
You have to suck it up basically!

Other half goes and gets a job. ok that was easy, problem solved, next...........

(if anyone replies saying "There are no jobs" i will hunt you down and kill you...........)

    peace.
I am on the work programme. I had to go and see an advisor on Monday, she did a job search for me and couldn't find a single job for me to apply for, she said in the last 2 weeks the job market has ground to a halt and she's not sure why.

Obviously there are some jobs out there but I didn't have the qualifications or experience to do them, I am talking about low skilled NMW jobs the ones that everyone claims people don't want to do. I do want to do them they just aren't out there where I live.

Ah, but I think that you have missed the point. Not for much longer we don't. If you think that universal credit, "welfare reform" and the work programme are the end of the governments strategy, then you are sadly deluded. The debate has moved on whether you like it or not, and it has moved on with the support of an awful lot of voters in this country. Things are going to get a lot harder for the unemployed, and the only debate to be had is how civilised those changes will be. And don't bother to point out that the unemployed are also voters - they aren't. Those who are !!!!less about working are equally !!!!less about voting, and there's more than enough evidence of that. No party, whoever is elected in 2015, will be rolling back in the benefit state as was, and they will be hitting those on benefits hard to drive them back into work. Like I said, the only choices now are how hard and with what.

The O.P has done nothing wrong,
She certainly hasn't done anything right!!

Might not be able to change it but certainly don't have to accept and particularly don't have to like it. YOU may as well accept that there are always going to be people who are not happy about lazy scroungers and are going to be vocal about it.

I don't believe in god but if you do then apply that to yourself.

You cant drive people into jobs that are not there, however much you want to shout and jump up and down about it. You need to be able to grasp this simple point.
Yes you can force peope to do schemes etc, but they wont even do that right because supervised community work costs etc. They cant even find work placements for those who want them at the present!!!.
The fact of the matter is that unemployed people will always be given benefits full stop. Imagine the consequences if 3 million people were left with no money, crime would go through the roof. Then there would be something for tax payers to moan about.
You might not like it but you will be paying for a long time to come.

There's at least 100 jobs in your city alone (your words) so thats a few hundred scroungers back to work for starters. Do that across the whole country and we're getting somewhere. I am talking about the real benefit cheats here, not those that actually can't work.

Thats fine as long as its for those that really deserve it not those that just can't be bothered to work.

We're not talking about paying them no money, just less. If they can afford expensive mobile phones, lottery tickets every week and 50 inch TVs, then they are getting too much.
You might not like it but you will be paying for a long time to come.
And you might not like it but there will be honest, hard working folk being very vocal about it for a long time to come.

    OP:

Go to CAB, they will be able to help you. If you're on ESA, I assume that's a joint claim with your partner, and due to the complications with your pregnancy, he's not seeking work due to caring for the 3 year old...? If so, make sure the JCP know you're claiming jointly, and make sure Tax Credits know that you've stopped working and update your income with them to make sure you're getting what you're entitled to. Your local council should know your circumstances for housing/council tax benefit.

You CAB can direct you to a local food bank if money's that tight, and your midwife/SureStart should be able to tell you about any grants available. There are often local centres when 2nd hand baby stuff can be picked up free or for very cheap: also try freecycle for prams, buggies, cots, playpens etc.

I wish you all the best. Try to focus on the positives :)

Its nonsense to claim that job seekers cannot avoid taking a NMW job: of course they can.
My firm have advertised many jobs recently and all above NMW too, I can see the ones who are forced to apply a mile off -poor CVs, no covering letter and none of the essential qualifications that are specified- or are they all just pi$$ poor applicants?

It's not rocket science, however The job centre rang me after the last vacancy had finished with a list of those that claimed they had: less than half had actually even bothered sending an application in!

I hope the JC's benefits removal system is working as, by crikey, a lot of these 'genuine applicants' are taking the pi$$!

Oh and bear in mind: these were Mon-Fri office jobs 9-5 nothing strenuous apart from getting out of bed on time.

I am proud to be an ex union rep and fair minded having been on the dole myself in the 80's for nearly 2 years, but a lot of people out there really, genuinely don't want to work, there is no denying that!
