Depends what you are fishing for if its carp then you can try Thorpe Lea fishery. It does 24 hour fishing for about £24 and you can even get takeaway food delivered. http://www.thorpeleafishery.co.uk/location.php0

we always go to Haven Golden Sands at Mablethorpe, that way me and the kids can enjoy the site while my hubby is sat fishing, he has caught well over many times at the pool, which is on the touring part of the site - but you can fish as long as you are booked to stay at Haven and have your entertainment pass HTHmiss-piggin :j Mum of 2 wonderful girls and a gorgeous little man.DFW Halifax£2330 Tesco£2576 Virgin£3238 Little£5468 Asda£242 Barc£240 Catalogue£1600 Halifax1£2k Halifax2£250 [STRIKE]Capital£100 Picture£53k GE Mo £30k. If this is the first ever time you have been fishing i would advise you t go with someone with a bit of fishing experience as most waters hold fish from a few ounces to 50 lb and if you hook a decent fighter its not as easy as just wind and net ..Plus tackle and rigs can be easy to complicated.for the safety of the fish. Hope trip goes well and you get the bug...0

I'd suggest you dont go too far for your first few trips, so you can get the hang of it without driving miles and getting disappointed if you blank (dont catch anything)
I only really know about sea fishing, you dont need a license for sea fishing. Kent is full of great fishing spots, Dungeness, Deal Pier, Admiralty Pier in Dover, Reculver... the list goes on..
Have a look at http://www.worldseafishing.com/ in the forums there are sections for each part of the country, if you are in London I'd start by looking into Kent/Essex first then go further afield once you know a bit more and have built up your kit.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

Yep I go along with this advice, fishing is not just a case of buying a rod and some tackle and setting your self up at the nearest lake with a pint of maggots for bait. you need a rod license (by law) and permits/day tickets to fish just about everywhere these days, many fisheries, especially those that allow you to bivvy up (camp) will have very strict rules on fish handling and equipment, rigs and baits also minimum requirements for tackle you must have ie tackle that is up to the job and unhooking mats. My advice would be to read books, talk to tackle shop staff, watch videos and fish some local waters before planning a camping/fishing trip.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
Sorry i missed it was your first time. You really need to make sure you want to do this as it can get very expensive and as said in previous answers you need plenty of equipment apart from rod and reel unhooking mat. i sugest having a chat at local tackle shop some of them run fishing coaching lessons. Over the last ten years ive lost count how much ive spent but it runs well over a thousand quid.0

How about Anglers paradise in Devon http://www.anglers-paradise.co.uk/
My partner wants to go there. I think it looks very nice and there are lots of other activities to do if you or your son want a break from fishing. Perhaps you could ask them if they offer any tuition for beginners.
Hope you have a great time where ever you decide on!0 -
