Car written off - value?

When our car was stolen our main bargaining point was other cars for sale as obviously they couldn't send someone around to value something we no longer had.
Unfortunately ours was a substancially modified classic car so I couldn't find any adverts for something exactly the same - in the end I sent about 20 adverts all of which were roughly the same age and had at least some of the mods ours did. That coupled with posting them about 200 receipts for parts, old MOT's etc, we boosted their offer another £1000.
OP can't say whether what they're offering you is fair as I don't know anything about the value of your specific car model, but if you want to bargain with them send similar car ads for sale and copies of maintenance paperwork.£2012 in 2012 member #15: £651.55/£20120 -
Having looked into the valuation of local cars, being sold privately (Autotrader) we have accepted the £1535 offer.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Don't forget to take the tax out of the car as you can claim the balance back0
