Do the forum team here allow username changes

I know this one varies wildly from forum to forum, with some absolutely prohibiting it and others welcoming name changes with open arms. I have noticed some people here have changed names without making a new profile and was wondering if anyone knows what channels to go through? I don't have anything to hide, quite the opposite in fact, I would like to change it to the tag I use regularly...

I have used the search facility before starting the thread, all I found was threads people had made saying "I have a new username wow lolz"

if you can point me in the direction of a thread with some relevance I'd be ever so grateful.

How can I change my username?

In most circumstances, this is not permitted.

The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.

If you fall into this category, email [EMAIL="forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com"]forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com[/EMAIL] and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.
