I have downloaded lots of files in a folder on a Windows 7 machine (about 5Gb folder) which I want to put onto an external USB HD that can then be read by a Linux machine.
What filesystem would be best to use? Any other tips?

Reformat as NTFS - fine for Linux and windows - not Macs.0

any format is fine just share it, the linux box can pick it up as a smb share so can a mac0

(I think the OP meant share as in unplug from one and into the other, rather than a network share.)0
