Home Insurance Problems! Please please help!

Hi!
My two cars were stolen back in may, and with Direct Line home insurance, I claimed back the contents within the car.
I had a lady from UK Assurance come and visit me, and then she decided to close the claim due to 'no force being used' to enter the car (the keys had been stolen from the house). However, I disputed this, because we had a pick up truck, and there was a seperate key needed to open this - thus, the thieves would more than likely used force to gain entry to the contents.
Anyway - after many phone calls, the manager authorised payment from the claim to be issued. Great.
Meanwhile now, the lady from UK assurance has been ignoring my calls, emails, not responding - so now, after complaining about her to her manager - have been 'referred back the office.' I have no idea what this means, but no one has been in touch - and when I rang UK Assurance call center, they said that my case had been closed on Friday!!!! HELP!!!
I feel as if i'm banging my head against a brick wall.
I want to make an official complaint about the company - what do I say? Who do I contact? The financial ombusdman?
How do I make UK Assurance sit up and listen?
I assume that since the manager has authorised payment on my claim, that that's a start. I've never known a company like it to deal with!
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Phone the normal claims department and find out what they are up to. I think UK Assistance would be separate to the claims dept, but it will be the claims dept, that will be able to resolve the problems for you
Do that and see how you get on.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Maybe that means a cheque is on its way (or they have issued a final report to the insurer).branwen111 wrote: »when I rang UK Assurance call center, they said that my case had been closed on Friday!!!! HELP!!!
I assume UK Assurance (or assistance) are a loss adjuster. Your policy is with the insurer - I would be shouting at them.0
