Question about VAT

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I had a question.
Say I am a VAT registered company and purchased 1 item from Germany. Am I allowed to claim back the VAT?
I understand I cannot claim back on anything for personal use but what if I claimed it back under the reason that is was a promotional item or a 1st prize that was being given away in a raffle?

Germany is an EEC country, so in theory the invoice should not have any VAT on it, but it should show your vat number.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles
