Notice of intended prosecution, speeding

In the post today I recieved a Notice of intended prosecution, for speeding.
36 mph in a 30 zone, it was an industrial estate (no houses & not much other traffic either) on a Saturday afternoon:mad: .

I really don't speed & I do know the camera is there, so I'm wondering could it be faulty (the camera)?

Am I likely to get points?
My husband said they send you to speeding classes now sometimes:confused: , yeah me (nearly 40 housewife with an old lady car!!!) & all the boy racers. Does anyone know about these?

Whats the fine, does anyone know?

I've never had a motoring offence/ticket before, but I thought they just sent you fines, this "Notice of intended prosecution" sounds so serious, do I need to worry, is it very serious?

I really do not speed, people actually joke about how slow I am!!!!!

Only a certain amount of forces operate these speeding classes.

A friend of mine went on one a few years ago, with Northamptonshire, and he still had to pay the fine, but didn't get any points.

    Just out of curiosity.......

    Where did you get nicked?

    Ken.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

S84 RTRA 84 (Road Traffic Acr - speeding offence)
sch 2 RTOA 88 (Road Traffic Offender Act (I think) dealing with fines IIRC you could google)

Fill in the form, send it back. They'll will then endorse your license and charge you £60. Don't forget to tell your insurer.

I did think that. I don't doubt that it was me. But I really doubt I was speeding, people really do joke about me being slow, I'm always being overtaken!!! What I'm wondering is could the camera have been fauly?

I know its there, so I always srop down to 25 to pass it (just to be on the safe side) & I don't speed anyway - this is my first speed ticket EVER.

PLEASE don't do this - it's really dangerous.

Just travel at the right speed limit!

If everyone behind you is doing 30 and you drop to 25 you'll cause an accident!

Easy way to check if the camera is faulty: Drive past it at 36mph. If you get another ticket saying 36mph on it, then it was fine all along.
