You still haven't answered my question: which forex company gives you real market transfer rates?

I don't actually care about "real market transfer rates" - - what counts to me it the bottom line amount I get, and the only way I can ascertain that I do is that I shop around for the best deal every time I need to send money.

I have never said that that Transferwise aren't legit, and I have never said they couldn't be the best deal for a given requirement. The issue I have is that some people - - with apparent vested interest - - seem to think there should be a separate thread for Transferwise (rather than using existing money transfer threads). Mind you, a separate thread will almost certainly disappear from view before long - I will certainly not do any more myself to bump it up.
  • There's an argument for changing the main thread, and dependence on FXcompared.com:
..claim to work in a different way with more person to person trading; less offices or salaries. I don't know why neither is on fxcompared but everyone has to earn a living & most comparison sites probably want some kind of payment for placement, or at least a lot of work linking-up and providing the data. So there's a reason why people should be keen on these two and I hope both services get a fair trial on whatever thread. They mey be different animals. They have been cheap when I have used them. Simplez.

    Really?
    According to fxcompared.com :

For sending £500 to eurozone countries, Skrull moneybrokers is at the top offering €622. Transferwise is offering €633 (after
    deduction of fee).

For sending £1000 to eurozone countries, Skrull moneybrokers is at the top offering €1245. Transferwise is offering €1265

For sending £5000 to eurozone countries, World First is at the top offering €6293. Transferwise is offering €6326

For sending £10000 to eurozone countries, TOR Fx is at the top offering €12627. Transferwise is offering €12651

For sending £15000 to eurozone countries, TOR Fx is at the top offering €18941. Transferwise is offering €18977

For sending £20000 to eurozone countries, TOR Fx is at the top offering €25255. Transferwise is offering €25303

For sending £50000 to eurozone countries, TOR Fx is at the top offering €63201. Transferwise is offering €63257

For sending £100000 to eurozone countries, TOR Fx is at the top offering €126402. Transferwise is offering €126513.

The above comparisons just prove that other fx companies have a commission rate greater than 0.4-0.5% (which is what
transferwise charge as a fee separately) Of course transferwise have drawbacks such as limited reviews, only trade in Euros etc but i understand they've only just established themselves so will hopefully offer other currencies over time. But they are definitely amongst the best (if not THE best) for eurozone payments. They certainly appear to be legit as they are registered under FSA:

(PS i work for transferwise :rotfl:)

I do not know much about transfer wise. But I do know that brokers are better and faster on the bigger transfers.

Also be aware that FX Compared doesnt sort results by rates......

I used TransferWise to pay 150 euro deposit to villa owner in Spain.

The transaction went smoothly. I paid by giving my debit card details to Transferwise and had a confirmation email 3 hrs later to say the transfer had been done.

It took 3 days for the transaction to show up on my online bank account details. On the same day I had confirmation from the villa owner that the 150 euro had been credited to their account.

Exchange rate used was the Visa FX rate for the day I gave my debit card details and I was charged a £1 fee for the service.
  • i agree with what everyone that didnt want this removed said,

since you not be allow topics about just one airline or supermarket, yet at the same time only be allowed to talk about one Fx style site,

also in my opinion transferwise are the best Fx service and i have used them for over a year now (seeing transfer timeframes go from 3 - 4 days to within one day) and put over 10k thu them

and yes i dont post much at all (low post count), so can say this is spam all you want, tho its not (i just dont post much just like i dont reveiw sites much on cashback site, but transferwise inpressed me so much that i have copyed a few reviews i leave this week with cashback sites)

personally transferwise are very good, i wont brother writing anything, (since your all going to jump on either the spam or spelling bus) ill just copy the 2 reveiw i left on a cashback site about them over the past week,

also if anyone wants or needs a ref pm and ill send one

    reveiws below

"I've set this just to a retailer review, (since I dont set the point in putting a cashback review the stat box says it all only 74% tracked, tho as I said last time I reviewed tw its not about the cashback id use these guys anyways) i started a payment last night after 7pm and even had to upload docs of id for the fraud check due to having now sent of 10k via them, and even with that the the payment was processed by 9:30am this morning, heck thats faster that some uk banks can do payments, thats not even an hour in most peoples idea of working time (9am - 5pm), as for the fee that was only .50P (due to my free credit tho even without that it would of only been like £15 thats in most cases less that 50% of what most ever bank charge to exchange to euros not to even start on they other fees of sending the money) TransferWise never fail to impress me *7th time i've use them now* (infact they the only merchant I have ever reviewed due to this all the others are just doing half a job), would be a bonus to get the cashback, but I will keep using them anyways"

"Now having used TransferWise twice via tcb (6 times in totally) i will give a review of the tracking, since I have needed claims for both of my tcb transactions I have to say the tracking is really bad, as for the claims there still waiting for merchants (so I cant comment on that anymore) tho as always cashback is not a sure thing and even if TransferWise didnt give any cashback (or even the chance of it), I would still use them for the following reasons 1) fees, my most recent transaction I sent just under 4k witch cost £19 (and even earned me a fee free transaction on my next payment of up to 3k) witch is a lot cheaper than anywhere else more so if I do get the cashback but if I dont I would / will still use them again 2) speed, my most recent transaction was started on the 8th of june (a saturday) and when I say started I mean with the request / deposit not started to convert the cash, now its monday morning before 9am and all the cash has been converted and has been sent out the the receiver and should be there by tomorrow, that is an insanely fast service"
  • I've been using Transferwise for the last six months after reading a review on them on Roll Like Boss, and I can't speak highly enough about the service.

For a start, you get the absolute best fx rate out there. The rates that other providers give you are quite embarrassing compared to Transferwise.

Secondly, their fees are super low.

Lastly, the customer service is literally outstanding. You get emails all the way through the transaction and if you have any questions, they email you back within a few hours.

I send money from the UK to both Australia and the USA and have been very happy with the service.

Also, a tip of mine - if you're visiting a country and have friends / family with a bank account in the destination country - why not transfer your holiday money to them and collect from them on arrival? Did this on my last trip to the USA and literally saved $100 just from sending a few grand. Better in my pockets than the banks!

This is just simply not true. No single currency transfer outfit is always best.

People are best advised to use a currency transfer comparison site, such as (in no particular order)
