Does anyone know who is more likey to give the higher credit limit from Nationwide, Barclaycard or Virgin ?
I'm looking to spend on my honeymoon as well as BT around £4k.
I have been a Nationwide Flex account holder for about 4 years too.
Also, having previously held a Virgin credit card, how long is it before I would be accepted again with a balance transfer.

Is your honeymoon abroad? If so, Nationwide do not charge currency conversion fees which is a big + (normally around 2.5%). You must get them to charge in local currency though.
Re. limits, mine highest to lowest were Barclaycard, Virgin and Nationwide. Saying that though, I guess it's got more to do with your circumstances and also what you request off them.0 -
I'd suggest that, due to the disparities in introductory period durations for purchases and BT's, you'd be better to apply for two cards.
I'd suggest Virgin for the BT (long intro period and known for high limits, plus a £5 minimum payment - but don't abuse it!).
For your purchases, although you have a history with Nationwide they only offer 3 months interest free. Since Barclaycard's offering is the same, you may wish to look at Sainsbury's and M&S - both of whom offer 10 months.
Re the Virgin 'wait' period, I *think* (from reading the posts of others) it's 12 months.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Our honeymoon is in Las Vegas for 4 nights then onto the Carribean for 2 weeks.
I don't mind the 3 month 0% on purchases as I intend to pay back £500 - £1000 each month to clear the entire debt.
I last had a Virgin card about 20 months (and 2 more credit cards) ago. I currently coming to the end of a 12 month 0% GE money card.
Do Virgin still allow money to be transferred to a current account ?
If so I could do so to my NW Flex account.
Do the 3 cards I mentioned use the same credit reference agencies to check credit scores ?
If for any reason i'm turned down I could try a different card.

This table shows which card issuers use which CRA's. Quick answer is it looks like yes, apart from the Nationwide.

Decided to choose Virgin. Have been accepted over the phone, just waiting to get the paperwork to confirm.
Transffered £4,000 from GE Money card and was offered a £10,000 limit.Never buy a stupid dwarf -
