Replacing towel rail in warranty

Hello,
A towel rail I had fitted just under three years ago started to rust, it is still within its 5 year warranty so I have arranged to have it replaced by the original plumber.
However the plumber has said I must pay them the cost of installing the new rail. As they supplied and fitted the original rail, can they charge me again?
If the can legally do this I will just have to pay up, as I dont think relying on there goodwill will work.
Thanks

Its a tricky one, I've replaced things foc that are a year old when they have failed even though we only have a 6 month workmanship warranty... you are claiming on the manufacturers warranty so really it has nothing to do with the plumber that originally installed it. Its not his workmanship that is at fault.
I would say its down to the goodwill of the plumber, maybe negotiate a discount on the labour, or speak to the manufacturer and and let them know how much it will cost to replace their faulty product - they may make a contribution.0 -

I thought as much, the plumber has made it clear that they will charge, but like you suggested that I speak to the supplier and get them to assist.
If they are legally able to charge then I had better pay up!0 -
If he does insist that you pay then get him to give you a fixed price quote, then get a couple of other quotes, you may be able to get someone else to do it cheaper.0

True, I have a quote from them so know what they will charge. However I know full well that if I get anybody else in to do the work I will invalidate the warranty which has three years left.0 -
Are you not able to do it yourself?
A warranty would normally be with the manufacturer, not the fitter.0 -

I also have warranty on the work they did in replacing the boiler and parts of the pipework, I can guarantee if I replace the rail myself that I will render their workmanship warranty void! I will check though0
