Getting a reduced quote?

How easy is it to get a reduction on a quote that has been given?
We've been quoted £745 for 2 windows, one 1100 wide by 1650 high with one opening at the top, and one 1500 wide by 1750 high with 2 upper lights, one of which opens.
Is it common to try and get quotes like this reduced or do most people take the price quoted?

Have you shopped around ?
The other option would be to ask for a discount if you let them show folks their work or to be able to put an advertising sign in your garden. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Yeah we've shopped around. All 3 quotes were within £25 of eachother s have gone for the one recommended to us by a few people who have used them.Have you shopped around ?

Thats what I thought. I'd like to use the company but would prefer to pay a bit less than quoted.sounds expensive

I'd consider buying the units and getting them fitted, but then it's a case of getting them certified which I beleive is a pain in the backside.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

if all the prices are within £25 then they must be about right. where are you located - some areas attract a premium price0

I'm near Manchester, and for similar size windows to yours I paid just less than £400 per window last year.0

Just this week, i managed to £100 off a £1600 order, quoted by email, never spoke to anyone just asked!
and £300 off an already discounted order of £7000, just by asking for more discount!
Suprised me, but 2 emails were worth £400, if you don't ask you don't get. Worst they could do was say no!0 -
The insurance company will be wishing all of their customers are like you, trying to get the prices haggled down.:pHow easy is it to get a reduction on a quote that has been given?

The insurance payout has been agreed, but as I was honest and didn't ask for anyone to bump up the quotes, I have lost out due to the excess. Therefore I need to try and bring some costs down to cover that money. The insurance company will be wishing all of their customers are like you, trying to get the prices haggled down.:p[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
