Help needed from Dublin travellers

Hi. We are planning to go to Dublin from Holyhead on the Ferry. I need to know if it is doable to go over to Dun Laoghaire ( I think that is where I am going and how you spell it) and then get from the port there to Dublin and then to sail from Dublin back to Holyhead at night. This is as a foot passanger. Anybody done any part of this journey before?
