Okay, I have spoken to a few of you on here which has been helpful. I was made aware of the borrowing to borrow (being charged interest on the PPI monthly payment. Frontloading was the term I was given. I've been trawling the net to give me a clear definition.
I had superceeded a number of loans with a particular bank since 2000. On some occasions I would speck to the bank to see how much of the loan was paid off purely due to situations at the the time, only to find that after, what I thought was a reasonable period of time to take a chunk off the amount, that I had only really just touched it. Did that mean that they had added the PPI on to the front of the 5 year repayment agreement and would have meant that I had been charged interest on it too?
Today I have made the initial enquiries with the back to make the claim and they will be calling me back with in 5 days to take the details of my claim.
Although written in a thread further down, there seems to be a bit of conficting advice as I was also not made aware when taking the PPI for the credit card and the loans that I was able to source PPI from an independant company at less than half the cost. I didn't even know these companies existed until 2009! a mere 9 years!
Just one more thing, do barclaycard charge interest on their ppi? I paid my card off monthly and now it's concerning me that they have been charging me interest on it too!
I really appreciate everyones help and advice. I look forward to hearing from you.

Please don't start any more new threads about this. You have already been informed what constitutes a valid complaint and been referred to the MSE advice article.
Any more discussion should continue on the original thread:

I have only just received your deatils on the other thread so I will take it from there. You seem to appear that I was ignoring your advice??!! By the way I did not say that the conflicting advice was from this site alone. You and one other has agreed with one point whist other bodies have disagreed. Either way I just need advice. I will respond to your post and leave this thread.
