Me Magazine

I got a phone call 2 weeks ago offering a trial subscription to Me Magazine and a £100 health and beauty treatment voucher for taking the trial subscription. You have 14 days to cancel your subscription if you're not happy but pay £1 for the first issue to cover postage.
2 days later a letter arrives confirming my subscription and it says the magazine is enclosed but it isnt. Also, the voucher isn't valid for anywhere in particular - you have the treatment then send them the receipt and they will refund you. This was the point at which I called to cancel my subscription. When I called he just took my order number and confirmed it was cancelled. Several days later they have taken the £1 payment and the £65 subscription fee - both on the same day.
In the last week I have had 2 calls from marketing companies who told me they got my details from Me Magazine.
I am usually pretty savvy with this sort of thing but he obviously caught me at the wrong time (or the right time in his opinion).
It took me ages to get through to cancel the subscription as they never seem to answer the phone so I've just left them a voicemail requesting an immediate refund of the £65.
I just wanted to warn everyone and if you accepted the trial please check your bank account as soon as possible!

Its not a DD, they take your card details and the bank say that if you've given them your card details then you have to contact the company to get them to stop taking payments. Which is not very helpful.0
