I can't see how it works but we've had a letter from Bottomline Technologies saying our contract has been assigned to Chatham Street Technologies wef 1st July, so we should now make payments to the following account ...
Now, I've never heard of either of these organisations, and looking online we have no call for the services they purport to provide.
So, one for the shredder?

Plus I have the kind of mind which remembers our suppliers. This ain't one of them! I've checked that, too.
Just wondering if they do debt collection - they talk about financial process automation, whatever that is! We don't owe any money - we're in dispute with a couple of companies, but still talking!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Bottomline Technologies is "a leading global provider of payments and invoice automation software" i.e. they seem to do document processing and BACS software. I would guess that since their address is 115 Chatham Street, then Chatham Street Technologies are owned by the same people, and that there's a bit of corporate reorganisation going on.
Bottomline looks legit, so I'd guess that your contact details have somehow found their way onto their customer database at some point in the past, and they've just sent you the standard letter. Perhaps you purchased some software from them in the past, or some accounting software from someone else that piggybacked off their software. Doesn't matter, I don't think there's anything to worry about. If they start sending you invoices, then you start worrying.0 -
Wait for an invoice from the new company and ask them what it was for? If it's genuine, they'll let you know pronto.
FWIW Bottomline's address is Chatham Street, Reading, so probably the same people in a new company0 -
Thanks all, my instinct to do nothing is sound, but just thought it was worth checking if anyone else had had anything similar. I know what financial software we're using, and I can't see how they would have been involved. But hey ho, I've been wrong before!Signature removed for peace of mind0
