my dad just signed up to a new contract with talk talk and hour ago.

i have since spoken to him and have advised he hs been offered a crap deal. He seems to think that the girl on the phone told him he can now no longer cancel or change the contract. is that right?

surely i would have thought there should be some kind of cooling off period?

A new contract, or an upgrade of his existing contract? DSR does not apply to upgrades or extensions.

You don't say why - but call customer services and say you are moving and won't need services at you new address. They'll calculate what's due and send a final bill.
