Is my Santander account a 'basic' account?

i have a joint account with my other half for our bills, its a Santander account, i believe originally it was a visa electron, but is now a visa debit card.
My card like another post on here is not embossed, and says on back 'electronic use only' we opened account when MRS started a DMP as she had to close her accounts including our joint one with HSBC.
On Santender website they say basic account doesn't have a debit card which makes me think our joint account is a normal current account as opposed to a 'basic' account.
Only reason i ask is because its a bills only account I'd like to upgrade account to a 123 account, and basic accounts aren't eligible for upgrade

why dont you call Santander and ask them?0

Do you have online access via Santander.co.uk? the headers will explain what account is, and allow you to upgrade to 1-2-3 if required.0

Upgrading to a 1-2-3 account doesn't guarantee an off line debit card though.0

You probably have an "Instant Plus" account which is a halfway house between a Basic account and a "full" current account. It is designed for people with low credit scores or little credit history, but who have not been made bankrupt or had terrible history.
It cannot be upgraded to a 123 if this is the case, a new credit check must be carried out and a new sort code and account number will be generated. DDs must be moved over manually.0 -
Our no-frills Basic Current Account allows you to pay your bills using direct debit and standing orders and comes with a cashcard to use at our network of cash machines....Garret1230

I upgraded my Basic account with Cashcard account to a Santander Zero account and kept the same account number about 6 months ago , all that changed was they sent me out a debit card.0 -

I thought the basic Santander Cashcard Account couldn't be upgraded, or so it says on their website?Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
It can't - the poster is either talking rubbish or didn't have a basic account to start with.0

I know what accounts I've opened thank you very much, you arrogant ponce.
So In this post you replied to i'm talking senseAs Toe-Jam has said, if you have had the Basic account for around 3 months or more, you will probably get accepted for the Instant Plus which comes with a Visa Debit MFC Online card.
More than 6 months, you may get accepted for an Everyday account with overdraft and chequebook facilities.
I'm assuming you work for Scamtander in which case its almost guaranteed your the one talking rubbish.
The original account came with a red cirrus card and was called BASIC BANK ACCOUNT, its now called0
