If you are looking at Neff, Bosch or Siemens you are either getting gas on tempered glass or gas on ceramic glass. Gas on ceramic glass is better as ceramic is more heat, scratch and impact resistant but dearer too. In terms of features, its the same as gas on steel but with BSH you will find some features on the tempered or ceramic hobs that you wont on gas. They are higher specification hobs.

Was looking at Neff or Bosch and they are both on tempered glass.

As you are a kitchen designer Would you go for a black or s/steel chimney hood if your kitchen is white gloss with black freestanding appliances and black worktop.

    Advice appreciated

Im looking at a black curved glass cooker hood. Something under £ 200.00 as I usually just open a window when I cook. So it wont get used much. Baumatic do a black one 60cm. Not sure if the glass is clear or tinted!

Is that what you are referring to when you say black glass (just the glass bit or the chimney bit itself)!!!

I thought you were referring to one of the styling angled glass hoods like the Elica OM. I have see what a cleaning nightmare chimneys in painted or black chrome can be so wouldnt recommend them at all.
